Live From Tucker GA, It is S and J’s Woodfired Pizza

May 29, 2010 By Jonathan

If you are reading this now, you have realized that we have gone live with sjwoodfiredpizza.com.  Jeff Cohan, Sarah’s dad and owner of nsiteful, has been a huge help in getting our website off the ground.  I just wanted to take a second to show my loyal readers around the website.  On the home page, there are links to our facebook page and our blog.  Before Sarah and I became business partners, we were best friends and then boyfriend and girlfriend.  This business is more than just business to us.  It is our “clan”.  We want to share with you aspects of S & J's Woodfired Pizza but also aspects of our regular family life.  Food is about more than taste and appearance. It is about love and family and you will find out more about our clan in the about us section.  Also, throughout the website you will find links to our foundation.  This is an important part for us.  It’s our core beliefs and how Sarah and I approach life.

Not only doimg_3625 we give you a look into our lives but we plan on serving great wood-fired pizza.  I want to make the best pizza you have ever had.  Whether it be ideas about different topping combinations, coments on our dough or sauce or any other menu items check out the section For Those Who Need Inspiration.  There you can leave comments and we will have a poll that you can vote for your favorite items.  I want sjwoodfiredpizza.com to be the best site on the web and S & J's Woodfired Pizza to be the best pizza you have had.  We want to interact with you and have you talk to us.  You can leave comments on my blog and also pingbacks to your own blog.    For those of you who have already caught THE FEVER, we will have a selection of S & J's Woodfired Pizza gear available shortly.  So check back soon and often and see whats new and awesome about S and J.

Back From the Rockies

May 23, 2010 By Jonathan

So, Colorado is awesome. Sarah and I just got back this week from Boulder Colorado after spending 4 days there. We attended a workshop put on by the company, The Fire Within, that produces our ovens and trailers. We learned all kinds of great things including trailer specs, business knowledge, how to use the oven, and some great recipes. The oven and trailer look great in person.

It is so amazing that S & J's Woodfired Pizza is gonna be up and running. The versatility of our wood-fired oven is crazy. It is an oven, cooktop, bropiler and bbq all in one. I will be able to cook you a fresh loaf of bread, then an egg, then a pizza for lunch, and then a paella for dinner. I can’t wait to get going. The culinary spirit inside of me is flying with ideas and thoughts on how to make the most out of our wood-fired oven. For those who have never had wood-fired pizza, you are in for a treat. The pizza is awesome and just like Pringles, 1 is not enough. We are weighing our options and see what will work best for us, and I’ll keep you updated as to what type of oven we order and when it will arrive. We plan to order this week so hopefully you don’t fall off the edge of your seat waiting cause that will make 2 of us. For those of you who haven’t visited CO, I definitly recommend and please check out some of our pics in our website photo gallery.

The Applications Are In

May 7, 2010 By Jonathan

We finished up the applications for 3 festivals today. We have now applied to Summer Shade festival at Grant Park, the Jug Tavern Festival in Winder GA, and Shady Days in Gay in Gay GA. We are still waiting for acceptance so keep your fingers crossed, but who wouldn’t want some delish wood-fired pizza at their event. We also plan on doing the Atlanta Arts Festival at Piedmont Park, and we are currently working on our application but have not finished it yet. Also due to the upfront money needed to enter we haven’t fully decided on whether that event will be right for us. This will complete our public schedule for 2010. Go ahead and stay on the edge of your seats until we are accepted then plan on seeing us there to enjoy year 1 of S & J's Woodfired Pizza.

Bringing You Up to Speed

May 1, 2010 By Jonathan

To get everyone up to speed, as of 5/1/2010, Sarah and I have become an LLC with the registered name of S & J's Woodfired Pizza, sorry copycats can’t beat the original. We have been accepted to one festival but had to back out because our wood-fired oven wouldn’t be ready in time, scheduled a hands on workshop with a possible oven vendor in Boulder CO, started working on our website, arranged kitchen rental space, bought a pizza prep table, started working on our website, narrowed down our wood-fired oven vendors to two (Good Luck you two), started working on our appilications for fall festivals (dates to be released shortly) and started our blog. It will be your minds, hearts, taste buds and bellies that will be tantalized by our story and taste of the best wood-fired pizza, EVER.
